Hey hey hey, it's the pushy red-haired German we all know and love from Evangelion.
Not sure if giving her what she wants is the /greatest/ of ideas though.
This was done on the back of a very abused dictionary I found in the trash and decided to save. The back actually ripped off right when I started to draw her.
Will be moved to scraps eventually. (And achtung = attention if my sources are right)
Edit: Cropped it up to get rid of the ugly sides of the book cover.
Materials: Pencil and tempra paint. Time: One week
Asuka + Neon Genesis Evangelion belongs to Studio GAINAX.
The old paper effect (that isn't an effect since you were telling you rescued it from the trash) gives an interesting texture that I liked, also the materials you worked have a nice texture too.
Yeah, I do like the whole 'letters in the background' effect as well. I actually painted in a couple of the dictionary pages, so I'll have to scan 'em in soon.
Tempra's a niiice medium. Although it's making me get all rusty when it comes to oil pastel. 9_6
Makes me think of Pop Art and Roy Lichenstein in a sense. I really like it. Painted on the back of an old dictionary- sounds...difficult. I'm not very good with paints like tempera and acrylics, so I don't think I could give a very decent critique. I do love the blending/colors of her hair and I think you could do more of that kind of work on her outfit and skin/eyes. I think the background and whatnot should stay as is though or may with another coat of paint to make it stand out a bit more, but otherwise the flat colors are lovely touch. Overall, I say this is great work. :3

I have some free time this week, so I'll make sure to add some more detail and more coats on (I see what you mean, there's a bit of inconsistency to it -- specially with the hair and clothing and skin, like you said). I really appreciate the suggestions and input, so thanks alot.
A brand new monthly article which showcases some of deviantART's finest equine artists, as well as recognizing the lesser-known but equally talented ones. Interviews, helpful tutorials and features can all be found here too! I hope you enjoy it.
The idea of this contest is to set you up completely blind with a mythical being - from any world culture - and turn you loose to come up with a deviation based around it!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example.
